Pecos recreation sites set to reopen

PECOS, N.M. (KRQE) – Two popular recreation areas in the Pecos Canyon are about to reopen.

The Bert Clancy and Terrero areas have been closed since the Tres Lagunas and Jaroso fires last summer.

There were concerns about the possibility of flash floods and other debris washing down from the fire but those areas will be back open starting April 18th.

Game and Fish began restocking the area with rainbow trout this week.

The area above Terrero is also a favorite for the native brown trout.
