LANL moves waste to Texas facility

LOS ALAMOS, N.M. (KRQE) – Los Alamos National Laboratory is in the process of moving a shipment of nuclear waste to a nuclear waste dump in Andrews County, Texas.

The first shipment arrived there Tuesday, LANL must get the waste off its property by June 30th, but shipments were halted in February after the leak at WIPP.

The Texas facility will only hold the waste until WIPP reopens.
