Banyard and Myles leaving Lobos

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – University of New Mexico forwards Nick Banyard and Tim Myles have asked and received a release from the Lobos basketball program.

Both had very limited playing time this past season. Banyard is seeking something better. Myles, of Rancho Cucamonga, California, wants to be closer to home. Banyard is from Flower Mound, Texas. He averaged nearly two points and two rebounds per game for the Lobos this season. Myles averaged about two rebounds in the very few games he played in.

Lobos junior center Alex Kirk is exploring his options with the NBA. Kirk, who is due to graduate in May, will decide if he will you use his final year of eligibility after he gets more feedback from the NBA. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
