Manzano Mountains State Park to reopen

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Manzano Mountains State Park is going to reopen after a two-year closure.

The park on the eastern foothills of the manzano mountains near mountainair is set to open April 21.

The park has been closed because of high wildfire danger and because the agency had shifted its resources to other parks because of a state government budget squeeze.

The agency has assigned a ranger to the site full time and hopes to keep the park open year-round depending on the wildfire risk in the area.
