Isotopes get ready for opening day

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The season starts on the road at Tacoma Thursday with the home opener next Friday.

Former big league catcher Damon Berryhill is ready to start his reign as Isotopes skipper. Nine returning players are part of an opening day roster that includes 13 players with big league experience.

As far as style is concerned, Berryhill said he is not a screamer and that he is a skipper who wants his team to have fun and play hard.

A few players on the team have played for Berryhill in the past. One of those players is former Lobo and Manzano star Brian Cavazos Galvez who is back with the Isotopes after spending last season in Double A. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
