With very little moisture on the way throughout the weekend and into the beginning of next week fire danger takes center stage. Temps will rise on Saturday into the low 70’s with mostly sunny skies. On the positive side winds will be on the low side around 10-15 mph. However, the fire weather will likely get worse on Sunday. Temps will rise into the mid 70’s with winds gusts around 45 mph. This will push fire danger into the dangerous category. Some increased cloud cover could help to boost humidity slightly but probably not enough to offset the winds.
Next week will start dry with temps slowly cooling. The weather pattern does show some intrigue late in the week. Some models show the storm track sagging a little closer to the state. That could lead to some northern mountain snow and a little less wind. However, other models say get ready for the dry wind machine to keep cranking. Stay tuned. Check out the 8-14 day outlook. It’s not off the charts good but there some indication wetter days are ahead.
