FBI arrests suspected ABQ bank robber

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The FBI says it has caught an especially scary bank robber and it turns out he has an especially scary past.

The robber held up the First Financial Credit Union at gunpoint last month.

Employees say he was especially brash and violent jumping over the counter and threatening tellers with a gun.

The FBI has now charged 30-year-old Devin Jasperse for the crime.

He was on probation for a 2002 incident where he carjacked someone, led police on a high speed chase then forced his way into a Gallup motel where he robbed a family at gunpoint, then shot the father five times in front of his three children.

The man survived and Jasperse was just 19 years old at the time and already awaiting trial for allegedly trying to run over a Gallup police officer earlier that year.
