Public meeting set for Uptown changes

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Those who want to know what’s in the works for Albuquerque’s Uptown area can attend a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Inez Elementary.

Among the proposed changes that could be coming soon is the transformation of the transit center south of Coronado into a development including housing and shops.

“We’d like to have some residential development there as a way for individuals to take transit, but also for shopping and business opportunities in the Uptown area,” said Director Bruce Rizzieri of ABQ Ride.

ABQ Ride officials say any development would keep the current transit hub right where it is. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
