Board of Regents to vote on UNM tuition hike

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Will tuition get more expensive for students at UNM? The public should find out Friday with a vote from the Board of Regents.

The plan is to increase tuition by 1.5 percent for students at the main campus in Albuquerque.

Tuition at the other UNM campuses would probably stay the same.

UNM tuition has been raised in the last few years, but is still cheaper than a lot of other state universities.

The Board of Regents will also vote on giving faculty and staff a raise. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
