Trial date set for ex-cop in fatal crash

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A trial date has been set for the former Albuquerque police officer who ran a red light and killed a young woman.

Sergeant Adam Casaus, who was off duty, claims he was chasing a DWI suspect with his lights and sirens on back in February 2013. That is when he slammed into the car with Ashley Browder and her sister Lindsay inside.

Ashley died and Lindsay broke her back.

Witnesses had reported not hearing a siren and there was no record of a call about a DWI suspect.

Casaus was fired and charged with vehicular homicide.

He’s scheduled to go on trial September 22.
