Mark’s Weather Report

The second storm we have been watching for a few days is now passing through the area. This system is moving farther north so the focus point for snow will be over SW Colorado and the San Juan Mountains of northern New Mexico. Around the Chama area we could pick up 5″+.

Meanwhile over the Sangre de Cristo Mtns 2″-6″ are possible over the high peaks. Especially at resort level.

Meanwhile the rest of the state will get a big ol’ dose of wind overnight and into tomorrow morning. Gusts could top 50 mph across much of northern and eastern New Mexico. Here in the metro gusts could easily hit 40 mph. As the day wears on Thursday the dynamics creating the wind will relax and the winds will too.

In the wake of this system temps will stay nice and cool with highs in the low 60’s. Temps will be cool again on Friday before a big time warm up over the weekend.
