UPDATE – 3/28/14
LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) – A U.S. flag that had been taken down at a New Mexico bank, is flying once again.
According to Wells Fargo officials, the flag that was hanging inside their Los Lunas branch had been taken down because it was displayed incorrectly.
After complaints from an employee, the flag has been put on a flagstaff and now hangs in the foyer of the bank.

A local bank is getting some flak for taking down an American flag.
It had been hanging inside the bank for nine months and then a few people complained about it, calling it offensive.
A U.S. flag flies near the Wells Fargo branch in Los Lunas. The stars and stripes used to hang inside the bank, too – but not anymore.
“We have to stand up for what’s right and it’s right to be able to display the flag!” an upset customer said. “Because of someone previously complaining and being offended about the flag being up, they were asked to remove it.”
As of Tuesday, the flag inside the Los Lunas branch had been taken down. It seems the people working there were just as surprised.
“People are just really shocked that in America we would be asked to take down an American flag,” the customer said.
The spokesman says the flag went up before the Fourth of July last year without company approval. They also aim for a ‘”consistent look and feel in all branches,” so the flag idea didn’t fly.
“We need to grow up here a little bit and stop being so offended about every little thing,” the customer added.
The Wells Fargo spokesman also told us that the way the flag was hanging up, with tacks, could be considered disrespectful. He says Wells Fargo will be installing a flag pole outside the Los Lunas branch.
