NMSU proposes installation of synthetic turf

LAS CRUCES (KRQE) – New Mexico State University wants to replace the natural grass football field with synthetic turf.

NMSU says the project at Aggie Memorial Stadium will cost nearly $1.4 million.

A million dollars for the project is coming from a private donation.

The rest will come from student activity fees and university funds.

The synthetic turf still needs approval by the state.

If approved, university officials hope to have it installed by late August.
