NM hunters to get access to more hunting land

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Hunters in New Mexico will now have access to more land.

The State Land Office and The Game and Fish Department have installed a gate in Colba County making about 10,000 acres now accessible.

It includes state trust land and federal property.

The land commissioner says cooperation among his office, Game and fish, and The Transportation Department will improve the ability to manage and protect the land.

The gate will be unlocked during elk and deer season.
