More tourists predicted to visit Duke City

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – More tourists are taking a trip to the Duke City and that means more money for businesses and residents.

So many more people are coming here, the Convention and Visitors Bureau will print 50,000 extra visitors guides.

In 2012, 6.2 million people visited Albuquerque, up 62,000 from the year before.

All of this equals about $2 billion for the local economy.

The Convention and Visitors Bureau predicts even more tourism this coming year, partly because of the millions of dollars of renovations to the Convention Center.
