Homeland Security develops child protection campaign

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Homeland Security investigators want New Mexico children to learn how to avoid sexual predators.

They have developed a campaign featuring hero style characters in hopes to engage children.

The new campaign is called I-Guardian and will target children in schools and youth groups.

It will use trading cards to warn students about the dangers of predators.

HSI says in the last year over a hundred predators were arrested in New Mexico.

The program also addresses online bullying and asks parents to get involved.
