Psych evaluation ordered for burglar

MAGDALENA, N.M. (KRQE) – The man accused of breaking into several homes, including a county marshal’s, must undergo a psychological evaluation.

According to the El Defensor Chieftain, 22-year-old Timmy Leyba’s case in now on hold.

The Chieftain reports Magdalena Marshal Larry Cearley was one of Leyba’s victims on March 9. He and his wife were both assaulted by Leyba.

This was after Leyba was accused of assaulting his own relatives.

Leyba was arrested on multiple felony charges.

If found competent, Leyba will go to court for a preliminary hearing.
