Police bust shop selling synthetic marijuana

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque smoke shop has been shut down, at least temporarily, after detectives say they found spice there.

APD detective went into curly and Moe’s Central Smoke Shop on Central near Louisiana southeast and asked for their best stuff. The officer says he was given synthetic marijuana.

A test proved it had illegal ingredients in it.

The DEA says Mohammad Awad sold it to the detective.

Awad was arrested and charged with distribution of a controlled substance.

In September of 2012, the owner of this smoke shop was charged with kidnapping and raping a women inside the shop.
