Ex-PRC member pleads guilty to using drugs

SANTA FE (KRQE) – The troubled former member of the PRC, Jerome Block Jr., pleaded guilty to violating his probation by using drugs.

The Santa Fe New Mexican reports Block Jr. originally claimed a dirty urine test in February that landed him in jail was medication used to treat drug addiction.

But testing confirmed it was either morphine or heroine in his system.

Block Jr. was sentenced to probation for stealing on the job while he was on the PRC.

He used his state-issued credit card to buy gas for people to support a prescription painkiller habit.

He also pocketed thousands of dollars in public campaign money while he was running for the PRC in 2008.

The New Mexican reports Block Jr. pleaded guilty Friday to violating his probation.

He’ll be sentenced at a later date.
