Texas man not charged with NM man’s murder

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A grand jury has decided a Texas man shot and killed a Curry County farmer last summer in self defense.

The grand jury says there was not probable cause to charge 59-year-old David Brown with killing 73-year-old Max Allen, of Grady.

Allen was found shot to death in front of his home last June.

Brown farmed land owned by Allen and there had been an ongoing dispute between the two.

The case is now closed.
