Former senator’s name removed from library

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Disgraced New Mexico politician Manny Aragon no longer has a presence at Lowel Elementary School in southeast Albuquerque.

Crews removed the sign that read Manny M. Aragon Library Friday after the APS School Board voted earlier this week to change the library’s name.

The former senator spent four and a half years in federal prison for pocketing more than $600,000 during the construction of Albuquerque’s Metro Courthouse.
