Zoo to host special marine mammal events

BioPark survey reveals 1,500 ideas for change

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Staring this weekend and going through next week, zoo visitors can get a closer look at marine giants during Marine Mammal Appreciation Week, according to a BioPark news release.

Events will take place throughout the week, starting with a discovery stations about polar bears, seals and sea lions Sunday morning. That evening, those who dine at Farina Alto can help polar bears by mentioning the animals to their servers, and 15 percent of their bills will go toward conservation efforts through the BioPark Society.

Throughout the week, films and special guests will allow visitors to learn more about the animals.

All extra events are included with regular zoo admission from March 23-28, according to the release. For more information, call 505-848-7180.
