ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – We still do not know the name of the homeless camper shot and killed Sunday evening in the Albuquerque foothills after a SWAT standoff with police. APD has identified the officers who shot, they are Dominique Perez and Keith Sandy. Sandy was involved in another high profile case involving former APD officer Matt Kindle who was busted in a prostitution sting.

The library at Albuquerque’s Lowell Elementary School will be renamed. Last night the Albuquerque Public School board voted unanimously to remove Manny Aragon’s name from the library because the former state senate leader went to prison for ripping off the state.

Are you ready for some basketball? March Madness starts today! The New Mexico State Aggies play against San Diego State tonight at about 8pm on TRU-TV. The Lobos play tomorrow morning at 11:45 on TBS. March Madness on KRQE means there will not be a Noon or 5:30 newscast today.

From now through Monday, you have a chance to honor the nation and New Mexico’s Vietnam Veterans. The traveling memorial wall, like the one located in Washington, D.C. is on display at Fort Marcy Park 24 hours a day. The names of 58,000 troops who died in the Southeast Asia conflict are on the wall, including 400 from New Mexico.
