SAN JUAN COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – An electric provider wants to build a new transmission line between New Mexico and Colorado.
Tri-state Generation and Transmission Association is working on the plans and wants to meet growing demand throughout the San Juan Basin.
The plan is to stretch the transmission line 65 miles from Waterflow to Ignacio, Colo.
The utility says the line would also boost reliability of the region’s electricity system.
The Bureau of Land Management will accept public comment on the proposal until April 28.
