Pro life group takes responsibility for clinic's move

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A pro-life group is claiming it’s responsible for forcing UNM’s health clinic to relocate, but the university says that’s not the case at all.

Project Defending Life says their constant protests at the clinic near Indian School and Moon have been successful.

The group claims the UNM Center for Reproductive Health is where medical students are trained to do abortions up to 22 weeks pregnancy.

However, UNM said plans to move the clinic have been in place for two years.

According to UNM, the clinic is relocating to Yale southeast because it is more centrally located for its patients.

Project Defending Life was very vocal in the efforts to get Albuquerque voters to approve a ban on late-term abortions back in November.
