DEMING, N.M. (KRQE) – Thieves were able to steal nearly $40,000 worth of merchandise in an early morning break in at a New Mexico store, but they didn’t get away with it for long.
Police say the group, including one adult and three juveniles, broke into the Deming Kmart Friday morning.
They took everything from jewelry to electronics, but when they broke in they tripped the alarm.
Officers were able to catch three of the suspects right away and recovered the merchandise. A juvenile was later brought in by his parents.
Police are still serving search warrants looking for other stolen property. They think the group might be linked to a prior burglary at the store.
