Aviation officer recovering after crash

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque aviation officer, badly injured in a suspected DWI crash is improving, but he still has a lengthy recovery ahead of him.

Officer Robert Dilley was heading home from work on March 7, when his jeep was hit from behind, forcing it to roll.

Dilley suffered a broken neck and head injuries.

His family says his condition is stabilizing, but recovering from his injuries won’t be easy.

A fund has been set up at Rio Grande Credit Union.

The APD chaplain’s office and police union are also taking donations for his care and recovery.

The suspected drunk driver was arrested but is now out on bond
