Thieves steal Roswell woman’s oxygen tank

ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – Police say someone stole a terminally-ill woman’s oxygen tank in Roswell.

Tamela Stewart suffers from lupus and congestive heart failure. She relies on an oxygen compressor to breathe.

Stewart says she was getting her carpet redone earlier this week when the tank was stolen.

She says the carpet workers put several of her items on her front porch while they installed the flooring.

When they brought her belongings back inside her oxygen tank was gone.

“I need it to live and I’m like it could shorten my days and what if I stop breathing in the middle of the night because I do not have the concentrator?” Stewart said.

Roswell police said the tank is worth nearly $1,000.
