WIPP town hall meetings continue

CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) – There’s another meeting Thursday about the WIPP radiation leak.

Carlsbad’s mayor and the department of energy are hosting the town hall to update people in Carlsbad and the surrounding area about what’s going on.

Seventeen workers were exposed to radiation last month when initial test showed radiation in their system.

Follow-up tests have come back negative.

Officials plan on holding the town hall meetings every Thursday as long as there is interest.

It’s being held at the Carlsbad City Council Chambers 5:30.
