Land association joins Mora’s fight against fracking

MORA, N.M. (KRQE) – Someone else is joining the fight against oil and gas drilling in northern New Mexico.

The Santa Fe New Mexican reports the Mora Land Grant Association is joining the Mora County Commission’s efforts to ban fracking.

The county passed an ordinance last April banning the extraction of oil and gas in an effort to protect what they call sacred land.

A Texas oil company is suing over the ban, saying the county simply can’t do that.
