Man sending hate messages may not face trial

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Albuquerque man arrested for allegedly leaving a barrage of hate messages at a Jewish deli might not face trial.

Defense attorneys and federal prosecutors are raising questions about the man’s competency.

58-year-old John Ng is accused of leaving the hateful messages at the Nosh Deli in Nob hill.

An employee at his apartment complex tipped off investigators after hearing Ng complain about Jewish people.

Now both sides have requested a psychiatric evaluation to determine Ng’s competency and whether he is dangerous.

Ng’s defense claims he suffers from a mental disease. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
