ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – We now know what happened to the suspected drunk driver who nearly killed a police officer this weekend, who seemed to disappear after being ordered back to jail.

Michelle Rivera is accused of rear ending the jeep driven by Aviation police officer Robert Dilley Friday night, causing the Jeep to overturn.

Dilley suffered a broken neck and head injuries.

On Sunday the judge raised Rivera’s bond from $15,000 to $50,000 and ordered her remanded back into custody but she never made it to jail.

According to the bond company Rivera’s family was able to post the additional bond before she made it to the Metro Detention Center, so she was never re-booked.

Rivera faces charges of causing great bodily harm by vehicle. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
