Suspected drunk driver ditches jail

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A suspected drunk driver who seriously injured a police officer was supposed to be back in jail, but she isn’t.

Right now, no one is saying why.

Aviation officer Robert Dilley, 52, suffered a broken neck and head injuries when his Jeep was hit from behind on the interstate Friday while heading home from work.

The suspected drunk driver, Michelle Rivera, blew more than two times the legal limit.

Rivera quickly posted the $15,000 bond and got out of jail.

On Sunday, a metro court judge raised her bond to $50,000 and sent her back to jail. But according to the jail, she never ended up there.

KRQE News 13 called the judge’s office who said they don’t have access to Rivera’s file right now, so they can’t explain where she went or what happened to that order.

As for Dilley, he is doing slightly better. His condition has been upgraded from critical to serious, but he still has a long road to recovery.
