DURANGO, COLO. (KRQE) – Durango is going 100 percent green and hopes to save some green.

The city has renewed its partnership with La Plata Electric Association for 2014 and will purchase 100 percent green power for all of its facilities.

The city is hoping to motivate businesses and residents to join the effort by offering incentives like a $100 discount toward residential energy assessments, and a $200 discount for commercial energy assessments.

The program is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
