Answers sought for Juarez stabbing death

JUAREZ, N.M. (KRQE) – A New Mexico family is searching for answers after their 19-year-old grandson was found dead in Juarez.

The body of Alejandro Kawaha of Lovington was found earlier this month stuffed inside the trunk of a car.

The teen’s grandfather told the Hobbs News-Sun he had been stabbed multiple times in the neck, chest, arms and head. Also in the trunk was the body of Alejandro’s 28-year-old friend.

The family says Alejandro was born in El Paso, but has lived in Lovington for nearly three years working construction.

He was in Juarez visiting his mother. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
