ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The man accused of squirting several children in the face with a mystery substance from a squirt gun and videotaping them appeared in court Saturday.
Kevin Jaramillo, 35, is facing a long list of charges with one alleged victim claiming he had bodily fluids inside that squirt gun.
Jaramillo is the man police had warned the public about for a week when several children came forward claiming he’d approached them.
Jaramillo stood silent in front of the judge today in his court appearance.
KRQE News 13 spoke with one of his alleged victims who told us he asked if he could film her being sprayed with a squirt gun.
She says he claimed it was for a church charity to save puppies.
The 18-year-old claims Jaramillo had a Go-Pro camera attached to a squirt gun.
When she agreed she says she knew it wasn’t water he sprayed on her face.
And when she asked him she claims Jaramillo admitted he sprayed her with semen.
She gave a hair sample to investigators.
According to police, he had other victims as young as six years old where he told them the same story.
Today a judge expressed concern.
“Mr. Jaramillo in the complaint there is an allegation by the investigating officers about the behavior increasing and progressing and becoming more aggressive, that’s the allegation by the officers and that does cause this court concern,” Judge Daniel Ramczyk said.
Jaramillo faces kidnapping, aggravated indecent exposure and eight counts of child abuse.
The judge said he believes Jaramillo is a danger to the community.
He was on a no bond hold. Today the judge set his bond at $250,000 cash or surety.
That means he’ll need to come up with $25,000 to bond out.
Police have not received test results, so it’s unclear what exactly was in the squirt gun.
