SFCSO: Beware of arrest warrant scam

SANTA FE COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens about an arrest warrant scam.

According to SFCSO, someone is calling citizens claiming to be a Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Warrant Agent and informing them they have an outstanding warrant. The caller then tells the citizen to purchase a prepaid gift card, provide the caller with the number and the caller will clear the warrant.

SFCSO says if you receive a call like this, do not do as the caller instructs.

SFCSO is asking that citizens contact the non-emergency dispatch to report calls of this nature at (505)428-3720.
