Democrats host pre-primary convention

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – We’ll get an early clue as to who state Democrats want to take on Governor Susana Martinez in November.

The Democratic Party hosted its pre-primary convention at Route 66 Casino Saturday.

Delegates voted on who should get the party’s nomination for governor.

There are five candidates running.

They need to get 20 percent of the vote to qualify for the primary election in June.

Candidates who get less than that can still appear on the ballot but nobody who’s earned that little support at the convention has gone on to win the primary.

We’ll have results and reaction tonight on KRQE News 13 at ten.
