Apartment fire sparks AFD investigation

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Firefighters are investigating an apartment fire in the 2200 block of Ambassador Road in northeast Albuquerque.

Albuquerque Fire Department said firefighters responded to the fire early Saturday morning and could see smoke and flames coming from an apartment.

Crews were able to quickly control the fire leaving only two damaged units.

AFD said one apartment had extensive fire damage and the apartment below it suffered water damage.

No one was injured in the incident.

AFD is currently investigating to find out what started the fire.
