Park Officials: Elephant Butte water level up

ELEPHANT BUTTE, N.M. (KRQE) – Just in time for spring break water levels at Elephant Butte Lake are rising.

Park officials say the lake is currently four times fuller than it was last summer.

They’re encouraging college spring breakers or families who want to get away to head to The Butte.

Officials say there is plenty to do there, including boating, camping and fishing. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
