NM man to be nominated for big federal job

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A New Mexican has been tapped for a big-time federal job.

President Barack Obama plans to nominate Estevan Lopez as commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation, the organization that manages dams and reservoirs.

Lopez was Santa Fe County manager from 2001 to 2003, and before that, held several jobs in the county’s utilities department.

His position must still be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
