Memorial scheduled for murdered Texas teacher

CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) – Tomorrow a memorial service will be held for the Texas teacher who was murdered in New Mexico.

Friends and family are holding a service for Emily Lambert in Hurst, Texas.

They’re asking people to wear green, Lambert’s favorite color.

The 30-year-old teacher and mother of two was in Carlsbad last weekend visiting her boyfriend Robert Earley when she went missing.

Earley later admitted to police they got into a fight after drinking he punched and knocked her out.

And when Lambert woke up and tried to fight him he hit her with an air pump and used a rope to drag her body behind a barn in a deserted area near loving.

Earley is now being held on a $1 million bond. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
