Santa Fe police chief to retire

SANTA FE (KRQE) – Santa Fe Police Chief Raymond Rael is retiring after being in the department’s top spot since 2011.

Rael is a Vietnam era veteran who also served in many roles within the Santa Fe Police Department.

He held various positions from officer to deputy chief for 21 years. The city says under his leadership, property crimes dropped significantly.
