New Mexico will experience more springlike weather before another storm tries to return winter to the Land of Enchantment. Temperatures on Thursday will be well above average for this time of year. Highs in the east will warm well into the 70s, while the Albuquerque metro will reach the upper 60s.
Our next storm arrives Friday. The track on this storm still looks good, but there are some issues with the most recent model runs. The storm is going to have a difficult time pulling in moisture. While one model does look better than the other, none look terribly impressive for statewide showers.
The storm strength is still going to be good enough to allow some upslope over the Northern Mountains where a few inches of snow is still possible Friday into Saturday. Additional shower activity will favor the north and east, primarily Saturday morning. One thing the entire state will see is wind and a temperature drop of 10° – 20°.
