School employee with fake bomb punished

SUNLAND PARK, N.M. (KRQE) – The Gadsden School District will take disciplinary action against an employee who brought a fake bomb to school.

A spokesman says the employee took the mock bomb Monday as part of a training exercise.

But before anyone knew it was fake, the school was evacuated and the authorities were called.

The employee is reportedly an instructional assistant who is a former law enforcement officer and a member of the school’s emergency response team.
