Law enforcement honored during Blue Mass

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Law enforcement officials were honored at the 7th annual Blue Mass at St. Pius High School Tuesday.

All branches of law enforcement were honored during the ceremony conducted at noon by Archbishop Michael J. Sheehan, including police officers, firefighters, and first responders.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to honor and to thank not only the police and firefighters but others who put themselves in harms way, those who drive the ambulances those who are in the military and those who are in charge of corrections, so it gives us a chance to pray for their success and their safety,” Archbishop Michael Sheehan said.

Sheehan said the mass is a time to honor those who serve our community as well as their supporters and families. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
