Governor to unveil plan to diversify GOP

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Gov. Susana Martinez is set to unveil a plan designed to diversify the GOP.

Martinez, the nation’s only Hispanic governor, will announce details Wednesday on recruiting black, Latino and female GOP candidates for state-level offices.

Martinez has been leading this effort since before the 2012 presidential election where President Barack Obama took about 70 percent of the Hispanic vote and 90 percent of the African American vote over his GOP challenger Mitt Romney.
