PNM launches new energy efficient program

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – PNM is launching a new energy efficient program that could help lower residents’ bills and save energy at the same time.

It’s called the PNM Home Energy Checkup.

For $40, customers will receive a programmable thermostat, compact fluorescent light bulbs, faucet aerators and low-flow shower heads.

An assessor will also walk through homes, install the items and help identify where customers could save energy.

The program starts Monday in Albuquerque and will be available in Santa Fe later this month.

Customers in other parts of the state will be able to participate starting in April. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
