Several cities to vote for mayor, councils Tuesday

SANTA FE (KRQE) – Santa Fe voters will make their pick in the hotly contested mayor’s race this Tuesday.

Former Democratic Party Chair Javier Gonzales is facing off against City Councilor Patti Bushee and City Councilor Bill Dimas.

Voters will also decide on a number of charter amendments including one to make the mayor of the capital city a full-time employee with a full-time salary.

Rio Rancho voters will also head to the polls Tuesday to pick a mayor for that city.

Former mayors Jim Owen and Michael Williams are fighting for that job, along with political newcomers Morgan Braden and Gregg Hull.

Voters will also decide among nine candidates running for three of Rio Rancho’s six city council seats.

Voters in Bernalillo and Corrales will decide mayor and council races, too.
