Tierra Blanca hit with 3rd lawsuit

A third lawsuit against a New Mexico ranch for troubled youth has been filed.

The Santa Fe New Mexican reports the grandparents of a former member of the Tierra Blanca Youth Ranch filed a complaint in state district court in Santa Fe.

According to the complaint, James and Cheryl Morgan are seeking damages for their grandson’s treatment alleging he was physically and emotionally abused.

They also say their grandson was forced to work and not paid.

The complaint also names the state Children, Youth and Families Department saying the agency didn’t take corrective action.

Last month, the ranch settled its own lawsuit against the state, agreeing to give the CYFD access to students and their files for the next 12 months.
